Washington — The U.S. Department of State said it has received reports of closures, cancellations, and redirected commercial flights affecting travel to and from the island of Socotra, with some services diverted to nearby regional airports.

In a public notice, the Department reminded U.S. citizens to review the Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory for Yemen, which recommends against all travel nationwide, including to Socotra. The advisory cites ongoing security risks and limited access to essential services.

The Department also emphasized that the United States government is unable to provide emergency or routine consular services to U.S. citizens anywhere in Yemen, including Socotra, due to the security environment and operational constraints.

Travelers are urged to closely monitor airline communications, verify flight status with carriers, and reconsider any plans involving travel to Yemen.
