Widespread Rejection of Yemeni Visa Applications at U.S. Embassies, sources Says

Washington- Multiple sources have reported widespread and repeated rejections of visa applications submitted by Yemeni nationals at several U.S. embassies, starting from the first day of this year. The refusals were based on Section 212(f) of the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, with no national interest waivers granted.
According to accounts from a large number of applicants, dozens of cases — exceeding one hundred — involving Yemenis who had scheduled appointments at different U.S. embassies received identical refusal notices citing the same legal provision. This indicates a notable and uniform tightening of procedures affecting Yemeni applicants.
So far, no official announcement has been made regarding the imposition of a comprehensive visa ban. However, on-the-ground indicators suggest the implementation of broad, centralized security restrictions that have effectively resulted in the collective rejection of a significant number of applications.
These developments have raised growing concerns among the Yemeni community and human rights organizations, prompting calls for an official clarification from U.S. authorities regarding the nature and scope of these measures.
