Aden — The office of Presidential Leadership Council member, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, has issued a security directive lifting the curfew across all districts of Aden, restoring the normal movement of citizens and vehicles.

According to the document released by the Command and Control of Security Forces Operations, the decision was made based on Al-Mahrami’s instructions and in reference to a previous directive No. (10) issued on January 7, 2026.

The directive, dated January 8, 2026, stated that the lifting of the curfew takes effect immediately, with relevant authorities tasked to implement the decision and regulate movement in a way that ensures public safety and order.

The order was addressed to the Joint Operations of the Ministry of Defense, Joint Operations of active forces, Security Belt Forces Operations, and Aden’s Joint Security Operations, stressing the need for all concerned entities to comply and act accordingly.

This decision follows exceptional security measures recently witnessed in the interim capital Aden, amid heightened tensions and rapid field developments that prompted authorities to impose temporary restrictions on movement before announcing their removal as conditions improved.
