Gargash: Strategic Independence Is the UAE’s Firm Choice

Abu Dhabi — Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, affirmed Wednesday that the “packaged narratives” promoted by some are inherently weak, while strategic independence remains the UAE’s steadfast choice from which it will not deviate.
In a post on his account on the X platform (formerly Twitter), Gargash wrote: “Our compass is the national interest, and the stability and prosperity of the region.”
He added: “Media campaigns are transient and ultimately reflect negatively on those who promote them, while crises liberate decision‑making rather than restrict it.”
