The sea mines are not rigidly related to any specific warship type MOSCOW, July 12. /TASS/. Foreign countries are showing interest in the Russian-made sea mine protected from accidental activations, Russia’s state arms seller Rosoboronexport (part of the state hi-tech corporation Rostec) announced on Thursday. "The offered sea shelf mine Shelf has no analogues in the world. It can be planted from aircraft, submarines, and also from surface ships. The mine Shelf has the hydro acoustic passive/active equipment of target detection and acquisition protected from activation upon the impact of natural interferences and distance sweeps, making it possible to detect any submarines and ships irrespective of their noise level and the running speed," the Rosoboronexport press office said.    The mine’s unique design complicates the possibility of using countermeasure capabilities against it or conducting a dodging maneuver. "The sea mines are not rigidly related to any specific warship type. They have evoked the interest of the countries whose sea doctrine envisages laying minefields. Rosoboronexport expects a broad range of countries of Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America to pay attention to Russian-made sea mines," the press office said.
