Yemen: Houthis Prevent Leaders and Businessmen from Leaving Sana'a

Reports have emerged indicating that the Houthi authorities in Yemen are imposing strict travel restrictions on leaders and businessmen in the capital, Sana'a.

These measures are reportedly aimed at consolidating control over influential figures and preventing them from seeking refuge or conducting activities outside Houthi-controlled areas.

Sources suggest that checkpoints have been reinforced, and special permits are now required for travel, making it nearly impossible for prominent individuals to leave the city.

Business leaders have expressed concerns over the impact of these restrictions on economic activities, as they are unable to engage in trade or attend international meetings.

The move has drawn criticism from human rights organizations, which view it as a violation of personal freedoms and an attempt to suppress dissent.
