The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner disaster

The aviation accident in India was the first for Boeing’s new aircraft model, the 787-8 Dreamliner.

Prior to this, the aircraft had experienced issues with its batteries, Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine, microcracks in panel joints, and other components. Despite this, the Dreamliner was considered one of the most reliable modern airliners.

Media reports state that Air India pilots sent out a distress signal shortly after takeoff, and the aircraft crashed near the airport. There were 242 people on board.

Following this aviation accident, Boeing’s shares fell by 8%.

Previously, the company had found itself at the center of scandals due to revelations by former employees and various malfunctions.
