Paris— France witnessed a wave of disruptive protests under the banner “Block Everything” as demonstrators clashed with police across major cities.

Sparked by frustration over austerity policies and the appointment of Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, the movement mobilized thousands to block roads, burn debris, and paralyze public infrastructure.

Authorities deployed over 80,000 police officers, with nearly 300 arrests reported nationwide. In Paris, tear gas was used to disperse student-led barricades, while in Rennes, a bus was set ablaze.

Protesters denounced President Emmanuel Macron’s leadership, calling for systemic change and rejecting budget cuts that threaten public services.

Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau warned of escalating violence, citing the involvement of ultra-left factions. The protests, reminiscent of the 2018 Yellow Vest movement, signal deepening public discontent amid France’s ongoing political crisis.
