Egypt’s Ministry of Health has ordered the immediate closure of five branches of the “Belladona Laser Clinic” in Cairo following serious violations of medical and licensing regulations.
The crackdown comes amid growing concerns over the safety of cosmetic procedures offered by unlicensed facilities across the capital.
According to official statements, the clinics were operating without proper medical licenses, employing unqualified personnel, and using unauthorized laser equipment.
Inspectors also discovered a stockpile of unregistered medications and injectable substances of unknown origin, raising alarms about potential health risks to clients.
The affected branches are located in El Nozha, Nasr City, El Maadi, El Alf Maskan, and Kobri El Qobba. Legal action has been initiated, and the Ministry confirmed that formal reports have been filed against the operators.
In a public advisory, the Ministry of Health urged citizens to avoid dealing with unauthorized aesthetic centers, warning that such establishments pose “direct threats to public health,” including risks of skin burns, infections, and toxic reactions.
The closures are part of a broader campaign to regulate Egypt’s booming cosmetic industry and ensure compliance with medical standards. Authorities have pledged to intensify inspections and hold violators accountable.
