Wizz Air Suspends All UAE Flights Until June 30 Amid Regional Airspace Closures

Wizz Air has announced the suspension of all flights to and from the United Arab Emirates until June 30, citing widespread airspace closures across the Middle East following escalating regional tensions.
The low-cost carrier confirmed that the decision affects routes operated by Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, including services to Baku, Tel Aviv, and other destinations. The airline said it was forced to divert multiple flights on Monday evening after airspace restrictions were imposed in response to Iran’s missile strike on a U.S. base in Qatar.
In a statement, Wizz Air emphasized that “the safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority,” and assured travelers that rebooking and refund options would be made available.
The suspension comes amid a wave of aviation disruptions across the Gulf, with several countries—including Qatar, Iraq, and parts of the UAE—temporarily closing their airspace. Other major carriers such as Emirates and Etihad have also rerouted or delayed flights in response to the unfolding situation.
Passengers are advised to monitor Wizz Air’s official channels for updates and check their booking status before heading to the airport.
