Khartoum -- Local media outlets, citing unnamed sources, reported that Kabron had tendered his resignation more than two weeks ago, though no official confirmation has been issued.

His absence from Tuesday’s high-level council meeting, where he serves as chairman, has fueled speculation about internal divisions within Sudan’s leadership.

Observers note that Kabron’s disappearance from the political scene comes amid escalating tensions inside the council, with growing influence from Islamist factions and competing power centers.

Analysts suggest that the silence surrounding his status reflects the fragile balance of authority within Sudan’s transitional structures.

The lack of clarity has prompted widespread debate among Sudanese citizens and political commentators, who question whether the resignation is being deliberately concealed to avoid further instability.

Some reports highlight that Kabron’s absence underscores the deepening struggle between military and civilian blocs, as the country continues to grapple with conflict and humanitarian crises.

While the government has yet to issue an official statement, Kabron’s reported departure would mark a significant shift in Sudan’s defense leadership at a time when the nation faces mounting security challenges.
