Amman -- The Jordanian Armed Forces carried out airstrikes near Sweida, Syria, targeting smuggler factories used for operations into Jordan, after coordination with "regional partners."

JAF "coordinated the strikes with regional partners," the military added.

Jordanian military kills arms, drugs smugglers along Syrian border region

This announcement follows a statement from JAF earlier on Wednesday confirming that the military killed a "number of arms and drug traffickers" who were "organizing arms and drug smuggling operations along the northern border" between Jordan and Syria.
Jordan was a major route for Syrian arms and drug smugglers during the Syrian Civil War.

Since President Ahmed al-Sharaa came to power last December, Damascus has struggled to quash the industry that financed the deposed Assad regime and Hezbollah terrorists operating in Syria.
JAF assisted the US Central Command in conducting strikes on ISIS terrorists in Syria last week.
