Morocco’s Abdeslam Ouaddou Hospitalized After Serious Injuries in Road Traffic Incident

Former Morocco international Abdeslam Ouaddou has been hospitalized after a severe car crash that took place on Sunday in South Africa.Moroccan Craft Products
Orlando Pirates FC, the club where Ouaddou serves as a head coach, confirmed the news today, adding that the incident took place as the tram returned from Gqeberha in South Africa’s Eastern Cape Province, following their 3-0 victory against Chippa United.
Ouaddou and several staff members disembarked from the team bus to assist the victims in the collision between two vehicles, the club announced.
A Nissan NP200 collided with the stationary vehicles, striking Ouaddou and the rest of the club’s staff, who suffered serious injuries and were immediately transported to the hospital.
“The Club is in close contact with the medical team and will provide updates on their recovery in due course,” the club stated, asserting that its priority is the health and well-being of its colleagues.
Orlando Pirates also made arrangements to ensure that affected individuals and their families receive support during this difficult time.
Ouaddou joined Orlando Pirates as a coach in June 2023.
The 46-year-old brings arrived in South Africa with a rich international background. As a player, he won 68 caps for Morocco and spent 11 seasons in Europe with clubs such as Rennes, Olympiacos, and Fulham.
