Abu Dhabi Bids Farewell to Former Southern President Ali Salem al-Beidh

Abu Dhabi -- In a solemn funeral procession, large crowds gathered on Sunday afternoon to bid farewell to former Southern Yemeni President Ali Salem al-Beidh, whose body was laid to rest at Bani Yas Cemetery in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

 Thousands of Yemenis living in the UAE, along with prominent political and social figures and members of his family, attended the ceremony.
The funeral procession began after the prayer service, marked by an atmosphere of grief and reflection.

 Attendees recalled al-Beidh’s significant political journey and his pivotal role in Yemen’s modern history, recognizing him as one of the most influential leaders of his era. His burial was accompanied by prayers for mercy and forgiveness, and condolences for his family.

Ali Salem al-Beidh previously served as Secretary-General of the Yemeni Socialist Party and as President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen before unification. His passing is considered a turning point in Yemen’s political memory.
