RIYADH — The United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen has concluded a multi-day visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to advance peace negotiations and end the protracted conflict in Yemen.

During his stay, the envoy held high-level meetings with senior Saudi officials, representatives of the Yemeni government, and regional stakeholders. Discussions focused on reviving the political process, addressing humanitarian concerns, and building confidence among the parties involved.

In a statement issued at the end of the visit, the envoy expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s continued support for UN-led peace efforts and emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in achieving a sustainable resolution to the crisis.

“We are encouraged by the constructive dialogue and shared commitment to a peaceful and inclusive future for Yemen,” the envoy said.

The visit comes amid renewed international momentum to broker a ceasefire and launch comprehensive negotiations between Yemen’s warring factions. The UN has reiterated its call for restraint, humanitarian access, and a return to dialogue.

The envoy is expected to continue consultations with other regional actors in the coming weeks, as part of a broader diplomatic initiative aimed at ending one of the world’s most pressing humanitarian crises.
