A high-level delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) visited the UAE field hospital in the Gaza Strip this week, commending its vital role in delivering emergency medical care amid ongoing humanitarian challenges.

Led by Dr. Luca Pigozzi, WHO Emergency Medical Team Coordinator, the delegation toured the facility to assess its medical capabilities and review the services provided to wounded and displaced civilians. The team praised the UAE’s field hospital as a “model for emergency humanitarian response in crisis zones,” highlighting its swift deployment and operational efficiency.

The visit also marked the arrival of a new convoy of medicines and medical supplies, jointly delivered by the UAE and WHO to bolster Gaza’s strained health infrastructure. This latest shipment is part of the UAE’s broader initiative, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, which has already dispatched multiple medical convoys to support hospitals across the Strip.

According to WHO officials, the UAE’s sustained efforts reflect a deep commitment to strengthening the Palestinian health sector. The field hospital has been instrumental in treating trauma cases, managing chronic conditions, and supporting maternal and child health services under extreme conditions.
