Khartoum – The “Declaration of Principles” group, comprising more than 30 professional bodies, political organizations, and resistance committees including several entities aligned with the Civil Forces Coalition “Sumood” has called on international and regional actors to support growing demands in Sudan to classify the National Congress Party (NCP), the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, and its fronts within the “Islamic Movement” as terrorist organizations.

In a statement, the coalition emphasized that such a designation is necessary to curb the influence of groups accused of fueling instability and undermining democratic transition efforts in Sudan.

The appeal reflects mounting pressure from civil society and grassroots movements seeking stronger international measures against organizations perceived as obstructing peace and reform.

The group underscored that the demand aligns with broader efforts to safeguard Sudan’s political process and protect civilians from the repercussions of extremist agendas.
