The Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army (JAF) carried out new airdrop operations on Wednesday to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates Air Force.

The mission was part of ongoing joint efforts to support the Palestinians amid the dire humanitarian conditions in the war-torn Strip, a JAF statement said.

Two C-130 aircraft, one from the Royal Jordanian Air Force and the other from the UAE, were used to carry out the airdrops, in coordination with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), according to the statement.

A total of 16 tonnes of essential supplies, including food and infant formula, were airdropped over various areas of war-torn Gaza, bringing the total amount of aid delivered by airdrop over recent days to 73 tonnes.

The operation was carried out using a delivery mechanism designed to ensure the aid reaches those in need efficiently and effectively, JAF said.

The recent mission marked the 130th independent airdrop operation conducted by the JAF. A further 270 airdrops have been carried out in collaboration with other nations as part of a broader international initiative to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza by air.
