Sisi, Bin Salman discuss regional developments

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reiterated the urgent need to ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, the release of hostages and detainees, and firm rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people or reinstate military occupation of the territory.

He further condemned the Israeli practices in the West Bank and called for an immediate end to ongoing violations.

The president statement came during his visit to Neom, Saudi Arabia, where was received by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, said the Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy.

He added that President Sis and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reviewed regional developments and ways to deepen mutual collaboration.

At the outset of the meeting, President Sisi conveyed his sincere appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended by His Royal HighnessPrince Mohamed bin Salman, and emphasised Egypt’s pride in the fraternal bonds uniting the two countries.

He also expressed Egypt’s openness to continuing the positive momentum witnessed in bilateral relations, particularly in strengthening economic and trade co-operation live up to the aspirations of both peoples, Shennawy said. 

He noted that the president reaffirmed, during the meeting, the depth and strength of the historical ties between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. 

For his part, Prince Mohamed bin Salman welcomed President Sisi’s visit to Saudi Arabia, expressing the Kingdom’s pride in its longstanding relationship with Egypt.

He also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in all fields and building on shared strategic visions for a prosperous and stable region.

The meeting included comprehensive discussions on current regional and international developments, with a particular focus on the situation in Gaza.

In this respect, President Sisi reviewed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire and facilitate the unfettered entry of humanitarian aid, working in coordination with regional and international stakeholders. He reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for the Kingdom’s initiatives, including the outcomes of the recent “Two-State Solution” conference.

The two sides underscored their shared determination to maintain close coordination and continuous consultation in response to the developments unfolding across the Middle East.

They also emphasised the importance of preserving the sovereignty, stability, and institutional integrity of the region’s nations, and reaffirmed their commitment to working together in support of regional peace and development.

In conclusion, the two sides further addressed the mechanisms to deepen bilateral collaboration, Shennawy said, adding that both sides agreed on the importance of accelerating joint investments and launching the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council to serve as a framework for strategic co-operation. 

Key sectors identified for future partnership include industrial integration, technology localisation, transportation, renewable energy, and urban development.
