Khartoum — The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) issued a statement on Friday condemning what it described as a drone attack carried out by the “Islamic Movement Army” against the Adré border crossing.

According to the RSF, the strike specifically targeted the area known as the “Adkon Gate”, causing damage and raising concerns over the safety of civilians and cross-border trade.

The RSF accused the group of escalating violence along Sudan’s frontier, warning that such actions threaten regional stability and humanitarian access.

The statement emphasized that the attack represents a deliberate attempt to undermine security at one of the most critical border points in eastern Chad and western Sudan.

Local reports indicated that the drone strike disrupted movement at the crossing, though details regarding casualties or material losses remain unclear.

The RSF reiterated its commitment to defending border communities and called on international partners to condemn what it termed “terrorist aggression.”

The incident highlights the growing use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the conflict, adding a new dimension to the ongoing confrontations between Sudanese armed factions.
