UAE President and Turkish FM discuss joint cooperation

Abu Dhabi -- UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Turkish Foreign Minister His Excellency Hakan Fidan at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi.

Exchange of greetings
At the start of the meeting, Hakan Fidan conveyed the greetings of Turkish President His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wishes for the UAE’s continued progress and prosperity. His Highness asked him to convey his warm regards to President Erdoğan, along with his best wishes for further growth and development in Türkiye.

Strengthening UAE–Türkiye relations
The two sides discussed bilateral relations and the importance of strengthening cooperation across various fields. They highlighted their shared commitment to deepening ties within the framework of the strategic partnership and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries.

Regional developments and Gaza
Discussions also covered developments in the Middle East, with a focus on efforts to uphold the ceasefire in Gaza and address the worsening humanitarian crisis. Both sides stressed the urgent need to ensure the rapid and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians.

Commitment to peace efforts
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and the Turkish Foreign Minister reaffirmed the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution, describing it as the only viable path to regional stability and prosperity.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; and a number of senior officials.
