Egypt condemned “in strongest terms” the Israeli air strike on the Baptist Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza and the killing of hundreds of victims, according to a statement by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.

Egypt characterized the deliberate shelling of civilian facilities and targets as a grave violation of international law, humanitarian principles, and most basic human values.

The African Union chief Moussa Faki Mahamat accused Israel of a "war crime" following the deadly strike on the hospital.

"There are no words to fully express our condemnation of Israel's bombing of a #Gaza hospital today, killing hundreds of people," Faki said on X.

"Targeting a hospital, considered a safe haven under International Humanitarian Law, is a war crime," Faki said.

US President Joe Biden said Tuesday he was "outraged and deeply saddened" by a deadly explosion at a Gaza hospital.

Biden had "directed my national security team to continue gathering information about what exactly happened," he added in a statement.

The World Health Organization condemned a deadly strike Tuesday on a hospital in the Gaza Strip and demanded the immediate protection of civilians and health care in the Palestinian enclave.

"WHO strongly condemns the attack on Al Ahli Arab Hospital", the UN health agency's director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned in the strongest terms the heinous crime committed by Israeli occupation forces in their shelling of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza.

The brutal attack constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and norms, including international humanitarian law, a statement by the Saudi Foreign Ministry said.

This serious development requires the international community to abandon double standards and selectivity in the application of international humanitarian law, especially concerning Israel's criminal practices, the Saudi ministry said.

It demands a serious and resolute stance to ensure the protection of innocent civilians.

Pakistan Foreign Ministry condemned in the strongest possible terms the Israeli attack on Al-Ahli Baptiste Hospital in Gaza resulting in hundreds of casualties, a statement by the foreign ministry read.

The spokesperson of the ministry affirmed that “Attacking a hospital, where civilians were seeking shelter and emergency treatment is inhumane and indefensible. The indiscriminate targeting of civilian population and facilities is a grave violation of international law and constitutes war crimes.

“We call on the international community to take urgent measures to bring an immediate end to the Israeli bombardment and siege of Gaza and the impunity with which Israeli authorities have operated in the last few days.

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says an Israeli strike on a hospital in Gaza is “horrific and absolutely unacceptable.”

British MP Jeremy Corbyn former leader of the Labour party writes on his X account: "Israeli air strikes have hit Al Ahli hospital in Gaza. More than 500 people - patients, doctors & those sheltering - have been killed.

What unspeakable horror. We will mourn their loss forever. Our leaders could have spoken up for peace. They chose to cheer on war instead.

When will they demand an end to these atrocious war crimes? How many Palestinian lives will it take to call for these indiscriminate killings to stop?

Please, for the sake of humanity, raise your voice for an immediate ceasefire. The existence of the Palestinian people is at stake."

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan: ”To target a hospital with women, children, and innocent civilians inside is the latest example of Israel's attacks devoid of the most fundamental human values. I invite all of humanity to take action to stop this unprecedented brutality in Gaza."

Arab League chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Tuesday called for leaders to "stop this tragedy immediately" after strikes on a Gaza hospital sheltering displaced people killed at least 200 people.

"What diabolical mind intentionally bombards a hospital and its defenceless inhabitants?" he wrote on X, previously Twitter, vowing that "Arab mechanisms will document these war crimes and the criminals will not get away with their actions."

EU chief Charles Michel said Tuesday that targeting civilian infrastructure in Gaza breaks international law after a deadly strike on a hospital.

"We got this information when we were together during this virtual meeting with the leaders. It seems to be to be confirmed and an attack against a civilian infrastructure is not in line with international law," Michel said after a videoconference of EU leaders.

Qatar's foreign ministry condemned a deadly strike on a Gaza strip hospital on Tuesday calling the attack a "a brutal massacre" and "a heinous crime against defenceless civilians".
