Libyan authorities have launched an investigation into a horrific domestic violence case in which a father allegedly tortured and killed his seven children in the western city of Zawiya. The incident has sparked nationwide outrage and renewed calls for stronger protections against family violence.

According to preliminary reports from local media and security officials, the suspect — identified as a Libyan national in his 40s — is accused of subjecting his children to prolonged abuse before fatally shooting them inside the family home. The victims include four girls and three boys, all under the age of 16.
