Football fans are eagerly anticipating a fiery clash between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates in the semi-finals of the 2025 Arab Cup, following strong performances from both teams in the quarter-finals.

The Moroccan national team secured their spot in the final four by overcoming Syria with a lone goal scored by Ajman FC striker Walid Azarou in their quarter-final match, which took place on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the UAE national team advanced to the semi-finals after defeating defending champions Algeria 7-6 in a penalty shootout. The match had ended 1-1 after regular and extra time, with goalkeeper Hamad Al-Miqbali shining by saving two crucial penalties.

The two national teams have previously met in five official encounters. Morocco has won two of these matches, compared to one victory for the UAE, with two matches ending in a draw. The Atlas Lions have scored 6 goals against the UAE's 4.

In the Arab Cup, the teams have faced each other only once, during the 1998 edition. Morocco emerged victorious with a 1-0 win in the group stage, thanks to a goal from Hamid Termina.
