Casablanca -- Sudan reignited their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a narrow but vital 1–0 win against Equatorial Guinea at Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca. The result lifts Sudan to third place in Group E, while Equatorial Guinea remains winless after two matches.
The game was tense and physical, with both sides struggling to break the deadlock in the first half.
Equatorial Guinea dominated possession, controlling nearly two‑thirds of the ball, but failed to convert their chances. Sudan’s resilience paid off in the second half when Torino centre‑back Saul Coco inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net in the 74th minute, giving Sudan the lead.
Despite late pressure from the National Thunder, Sudan held firm until the final whistle. Mohamed Eisa was named Man of the Match, reflecting Sudan’s disciplined defensive display and determination to secure their first points of the tournament.
