Hodeidah – Local sources on Kamaran Island reported that Houthi militias have imposed a severe blockade on residents as part of a displacement policy aimed at turning coastal areas into Iranian military bases in the Red Sea.
According to the sources, the Houthis issued orders prohibiting fishing along the island’s shores and restricting the entry of food supplies exclusively through militia-controlled channels.
They also banned the entry of citizens from outside the island and cut off internet services, effectively isolating residents from the outside world.
The sources added that these practices are part of a broader effort to transform northern Hodeidah’s coastal areas into restricted military zones.
Houthis have forcibly displaced residents from dozens of villages, pushing many into involuntary migration and worsening the humanitarian crisis in the region.
