CAIRO – Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call Monday with his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, to discuss the latest developments in Gaza, the West Bank, Yemen, and Sudan.

According to the ministry’s statement, the two ministers reviewed the importance of continued coordination within the framework of the Quartet mechanism aimed at reaching a ceasefire in Sudan, as well as developments in Yemen and the need to support de‑escalation efforts.

Abdelatty stressed the importance of achieving a comprehensive political settlement in Yemen through an inclusive Yemeni–Yemeni dialogue, “in a manner that preserves Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and fulfills the aspirations of its people for security and stability.”

The ministry added that Abdelatty reaffirmed during the call the depth of the fraternal ties between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, highlighting the close cooperation and ongoing coordination at all levels, and underscoring the shared commitment to build on existing positive momentum and expand bilateral cooperation in ways that serve the common interests of both nations.
