U.S. State Department Suspends Visa Issuance for Citizens of 75 Countries, Including Yemen

Washington — The U.S. State Department has announced the suspension of visa issuance for citizens of 75 countries, including Yemen, starting January 21, in a move aimed at tightening procedures for applicants believed to be at risk of relying on public assistance, according to Fox News.

The affected countries include Somalia, Russia, Afghanistan, Brazil, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Nigeria, Thailand, Yemen, among others.

Officials noted that the suspension will remain in effect indefinitely until the State Department completes its reassessment of visa procedures.
