Dubai-- Major orders from Emirates and flydubai, record attendance and a strengthened sustainability agenda defined the milestone event.
The Dubai Airshow 2025 closed with agreements exceeding $202 billion, setting a new record and doubling the $101 billion announced at the 2023 edition.
The milestone reinforces Dubai’s position as one of the world’s most influential aviation hubs and a central force shaping the future of aerospace and space technologies.
Global turnout, it’s scale and influence
Held over five days, the 19th edition welcomed 248,788 visitors, including senior decision makers, specialists, and international delegations. More than 1,500 exhibitors took part, with 440 participating for the first time, alongside 490 civil and military delegations from 115 countries.
The show also featured 21 national pavilions, 98 chalets, an expanded 8,000 sqm display area, and participation from 120 startups and 50 investors, marking one of the most globally diverse editions to date.
Major aircraft orders drive headline figures
Emirates placed one of the event’s largest orders, confirming 65 additional Boeing 777-9s and eight more Airbus A350-900s valued at $41.4 billion.
The commitments take the airline’s total widebody orders to 375 aircraft, with deliveries scheduled through 2038.
Flydubai also signed a memorandum of understanding with Boeing for 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, a deal worth $13 billion, supporting the carrier’s fleet expansion and aligning with Dubai’s broader aviation growth plans.
UAE’s rising aerospace ambitions
The Airshow hosted its largest-ever Space Pavilion, developed with the UAE Space Agency. A two-day space conference brought together more than 50 astronauts and experts to discuss commercialisation, international collaboration, and sector-wide challenges.
The programme reflects the UAE’s ambition to strengthen its role in the global space economy and build long-term capability within advanced aerospace systems.
Sustainability initiatives
This year’s edition incorporated broad sustainability measures, including the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for participating aircraft, electric and propane-powered ground support equipment in partnership with Jetex, and exhibition halls powered entirely by renewable energy.
Operational coordination was strengthened across government entities under Team Dubai, improving visitor flow and venue management throughout the week.
Organised under the theme ‘The Future is Here’, the Airshow highlighted breakthrough technologies and emerging trends across civil, military, and space sectors. The next Dubai Airshow will take place in November 2027, building on the momentum of a record-setting 2025 edition.
