Brussels — The circulation of documents attributed to Saudi journalists, accusing the United Arab Emirates of being behind assassinations targeting southern Yemeni leaders at the onset of the war in 2015, has sparked widespread controversy. Rights groups and media outlets have questioned the credibility of these documents, dismissing them as “fabricated.”

Several experts specializing in digital document analysis and electronic forensic evidence commented on the materials, stressing that the published documents lack even the most basic technical and legal standards, and cannot be considered reliable records.

Experts explained that the documents contain no serial numbers or official references that could be verified. Moreover, the attached email addresses are technically non-existent and do not belong to any recognized or traceable entities.

They added that preliminary examinations revealed no registered domains matching the names cited in the documents, reinforcing the likelihood of fabrication and manipulation. This, they said, confirms that the circulated materials do not meet professional or legal standards to qualify as evidence.

The experts pointed out that such methods are typically used in disinformation campaigns aimed at constructing a political narrative rather than uncovering factual realities. They emphasized that any serious investigation before international or judicial bodies would dismiss these documents immediately due to the absence of a technical and legal foundation.
