The United States conducted a series of airstrikes targeting Houthi-controlled sites across Yemen. The operations focused on several regions, including Al-Haymah Al-Kharijiyah and Manakhah in Sana’a Governorate, Madghal in Ma’rib, Bani Hashish east of the capital Sana’a, as well as Kamaran Island in Al-Hudaydah Governorate on Yemen’s western coast.

According to reports, the strikes aimed at military installations and arms depots belonging to the Houthis. U.S. officials stated that the actions were part of efforts to bolster regional security and protect international navigation, particularly in the Red Sea.

However, the airstrikes have drawn sharp criticism amid reports of civilian casualties, including women and children, raising questions about the humanitarian cost of these actions.

Internationally, Washington has defended the airstrikes as necessary to counter Houthi threats, while the Houthi leadership condemned the attacks as a dangerous escalation, further complicating Yemen’s already dire political and humanitarian situation. Human rights organizations are calling for an independent investigation to ensure the protection of civilians.
