Riyadh -- Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council Chairman, Rashad al-Alimi, announced on Tuesday a nationwide state of emergency, effective immediately for 90 days, extendable if necessary.
The decision includes a 72-hour air, sea, and land blockade on all ports and entry points, except for movements authorized by the Saudi-led Coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen.
According to Yemen’s official news agency Saba, al-Alimi issued a decree canceling the "Joint Defense Agreement with the United Arab Emirates" and called on "all Emirati forces and personnel" to leave Yemeni territory within 24 hours.
Al-Alimi, acting as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, instructed all military units in Hadramout and al-Mahra governorates to fully coordinate with the Coalition leadership represented by Saudi Arabia, return immediately to their bases without confrontation, and hand over all positions to the National Shield Forces.
He also renewed his call for Southern Transitional Council forces to withdraw from Hadramout and al-Mahra, stressing that these measures aim to safeguard Yemen’s unity, security, and stability.
