Authorities in Egypt’s Beheira Governorate confirmed the tragic death of five people from one family following a car accident late Saturday on the international coastal highway near Kafr El-Dawar.
Security officials reported receiving an alert about the crash in front of Al-Karyoun village, in the direction of Rashid.
Investigations revealed that a private car overturned near the coastal overpass, instantly killing all passengers on board — a man, his wife, and their three children.
Emergency services transferred the victims’ bodies to the mortuary of Kafr El-Dawar Hospital, where they remain under the custody of investigators.
Authorities have filed the necessary report and referred the case to the Public Prosecution to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the accident.
Local residents expressed shock at the tragedy, which highlights ongoing concerns about road safety on Egypt’s highways, particularly in heavily trafficked coastal areas.
